The network's social project

The Les Arts et la Ville network, the only one of its kind in North America, represents an alliance between the municipal world and culture. It brings together and equips communities in Canada’s French-speaking communities to make full use of the potential of culture to sustainably develop their living environments and strengthen the social fabric. Its action is based on informing and raising awareness, mobilizing and inspiring – by highlighting best practices – as well as training and coaching its members.

Culture is an integral part of life in society. It enables a community to fully express its identity, and its citizens to develop a sense of pride and belonging. It promotes the well-being of community members. Acting through culture means taking a structuring action for our communities, enabling them tobe, to become and to last.
